JDB 026: Be Nice. Be Helpful. Get More Clients

JDBlogger Podcast

The old adage that you will catch more flies with honey is true when it comes to marketing your law practice.  In today’s episode of the JDBlogger Podcast I discuss three ways in which simply being nice and helpful will result in dramatic returns in getting new clients.

Too often in the practice of law there are certain lawyers who believe they need to be a jerk or hyper-aggressive in representing their clients.  This results in added stress that simply doesn’t need to be there.  Today I will also discuss ways to avoid the knee-jerk reaction we all have when someone tries to impose on our time and how we can turn these experiences in positive ones that will create evangelists for your firm.

Tools of the Trade

This week’s Tool of the Trade is a mind mapping application that I recently started using in preparing for my podcast and in organizing projects for my law practice.  SimpleMind can be found in the app store in iTunes and allows you to create free-flowing charts that organize your thoughts and ideas in ways that adapts to your thinking.  There is also a great mind mapping app that is only available on Mac called Scapple.  Know of any other mind mapping apps that you find helpful?  Leave a note in the comments.
